Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the Champions League final yesterday. They beat Arsenal 2-1 at the Parc des Princes, meaning that their semifinal tie ended 3-1 on aggregate.

PSG will meet Inter Milan in the final at the end of this month. The Nerazzurri overcame Barcelona in a spectacular semifinal tie that ended 7-6 on aggregate.

And both teams have relied a lot on their goalkeepers over the course of the Champions League season so far.

For Inter, Yann Sommer produced some spectacular saves to bail his team out against Barcelona.

Similarly, former AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma played a decisive role for PSG against Arsenal.

Paris Saint-Germain keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma said that “the final will be emotional.”

“I’ll be coming up against a lot of my national teammates,” he noted.

“For now I’m enjoying the evening. The atmosphere is stratospheric. I’m extremely happy.”

“I’m not thinking about the final just yet,” Donnarumma admitted. “I’ll be facing many of my old friends, and also my old goalkeeping coach Spinelli.”

“I still hear from him every day,” the PSG keeper added.

Meanwhile, Donnarumma had praise for his Inter opposite number Sommer’s performance against Barcelona. “I saw the match,” the 26-year-old said. “He was brilliant.”

Then, the PSG keeper dropped a hint about his contract. “I still have one year left on my contract.”

“There’s time to talk about an extension,” the Italian international said. “They know I’m happy here.”

“If they want, I’ll stay. All that’s left to do is sign.”
