Paris Saint-Germain’s social and economic committee has called for the departures of Yohan Cabaye and Lucas Vigneron from the club’s academy at Poissy following a highly critical report.
The club said in a statement that it is taking the committee’s findings very seriously, is conducting further analysis, is not yet able to reach definitive conclusions, and will implement an action plan swiftly, informing affected staff first.
The investigation was conducted by two club employees, one representing management and the other the committee, and both reached similar assessments of the academy’s climate. Around 30 people were interviewed, describing stress, moral harassment, psychosocial risks, conflicts of interest and behavioural problems.
The tense atmosphere had built over several months, prompting a visit from the Yvelines labour inspectorate at the end of October. A CSE probe then began late in the year amid sick leave and unease within youth recruitment and the pre-academy.
The club’s hierarchy is not obliged to follow the recommendation. A decision had been expected in recent days but appears to have been delayed, with the matter considered highly sensitive internally.
In a bid to improve the mood, PSG have appointed Germain Borg to lead the pre-academy, replacing Bafodé Diakhaby, who left in December after several weeks on sick leave. A coach from RC Joinville has also been hired to take charge of the U14s.
