FC Bayern continue to fight for their dream player Anthony Gordon, but the transfer threatens to become complicated – also because Paris Saint-Germain have now apparently intervened in the poker

FC Bayern’s efforts to acquire Anthony Gordon are apparently facing greater hurdles than initially thought. As Sky reports, a transfer of the England international to Munich is currently „not in sight“

According to the report, initial contacts between FC Bayern and Newcastle United have already revealed that the transfer fee is currently far apart, with Newcastle demanding up to 90 million euros for the attacking player

Sport BILD also recently reported a transfer fee of around €92 million, which is said to be based on an agreement with Everton FC: Newcastle would have to pay 15 percent of the transfer fee to Gordon’s former club

Bayern apparently does not want to pay the price

According to information from Sky, those responsible estimate the 25-year-old’s realistic market value at around 75 to 85 million euros. However, even this sum currently appears to be too high for Bayern

According to the report, Munich currently only have a transfer budget of around 60 million euros for new arrivals this summer. Further income from possible sales could increase the financial leeway, but this is apparently the problem

In addition to FC Bayern, Liverpool FC, FC Arsenal and FC Barcelona are also said to be looking closely at the speedy winger

Now there is apparently even more competition: the portal TEAMtalk reports that Paris Saint-Germain have now also entered the transfer poker

PSG and the Premier League clubs in particular are likely to be much more financially flexible than Bayern – and could be more likely to meet Newcastle’s demands

Gordon apparently open to a move

Despite his contract running until 2030, Gordon is said to be open to a move away from Newcastle. According to Sky, the attacking player is currently even leaning towards a move in the summer

Nevertheless, Gordon remains an exciting profile for FC Bayern. The Englishman is seen internally as the ideal solution for the attack, as he is flexible and can play both on the wing and in the center of the attack

However, it is becoming increasingly clear that the Munich club would have to reach their financial limits for a transfer – or ultimately turn to alternative solutions.
