The January transfer window is open and there still could be a deal or two that Paris Saint-Germain can make before the deadline. However, the capital club could be pondering about their summer plan to bolster the team for Year 3 under Luis Enrique.
One of the criticisms that PSG have faced in the past is not recruiting players from Ligue 1 McDonald’s, considering it’s ground zero for top-tier talent that goes abroad and performs.
Under sporting advisor Luis Campos, the capital club have pursued elite talent from France’s top flight. The Parisians secured Bradley Barcola from Olympique Lyonnais and Désiré Doué from Stade Rennais. Could the current league leaders make it another summer where they pursue a Ligue 1 McDonald’s talent?

As reported by PSGInside-Actus on Twitter, PSG are starting to shape their plans for the upcoming summer transfer window, with one name surfacing repeatedly in recent weeks: Andrey Santos.
The 20-year-old Brazilian midfielder, currently on loan at RC Strasbourg from Chelsea, has reportedly drawn the attention of PSG’s management. Campos views Santos as an ideal candidate to reinforce the midfield due to his talent, maturity, and versatility.
However, convincing Chelsea to part ways with Santos, who the Blues secured for about £18 million in 2023, could prove challenging. Per the report, Chelsea are highly protective of the player, whom they consider a key part of their future plan and are exploring a contract extension to secure his long-term commitment.
With Chelsea’s strategy focused on developing young players, Santos remains central to their project, complicating PSG’s pursuit. To land the midfielder, PSG will likely need to present a significant financial offer while fending off interest from other top European clubs, including Barcelona and Juventus, who are closely monitoring Santos’ progress, as noted by PSGInside-Actus.
