PSG will contest a second successive Champions League final after ousting Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. According to Glorioso 1904, they have joined the small group of clubs to reach consecutive finals, a list that also includes Benfica.

Luis Enrique’s side won 6-5 on aggregate across two legs, the tie refereed by João Pinheiro, and will meet Arsenal in Budapest on 30 May. It will be the club’s third Champions League final after 2020 and 2025.

Last season the Parisians lifted the trophy for the first time, beating Inter 5-0 in the final. The reigning European champions again underline their status among Europe’s leading sides, with names such as Gonçalo Ramos and João Neves.

This latest qualification makes PSG only the 12th club to reach back-to-back Champions League finals. The group remains extremely exclusive.

Benfica’s standing within that history is long established. The Eagles reached three consecutive European Cup finals between 1960/61 and 1962/63.
