Real Madrid starlet Raul Asencio has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in European football.
Just a few months ago, the 22-year-old La Fabrica talent was not on anyone’s radar, yet now he has established himself as a starter for Real Madrid, putting in commanding displays against top teams like Liverpool and Manchester City, among others.
The academy graduate is still on a Castilla contract but has taken firm steps towards becoming a first-team regular for Los Blancos.
Such has been his growth that, Asencio sparked the interest of several clubs across Europe already.
Indeed, according to journalist Jorge C Picon, multiple European clubs, including French champions PSG, have enquired about Asencio’s availability in recent months, contacting both his representatives and Real Madrid directly.
Some requested loan deals, while others even tested the waters for a permanent transfer.

PSG have been closely monitoring Asencio’s progress for some time and made an approach to enquire about his availability and explore the possibility of a transfer.
However, Real Madrid have no intention of letting Asencio go as they see him as a key player for both the present and future.
Considering that he has a release clause of €50 million in his contract, Los Blancos refused to negotiate with any interested parties and pointed at that figure.
From the player’s perspective, there is also no desire to leave. Asencio is making the most of his opportunity and wants to continue developing within the club.
As for his future, Real Madrid hold an ace up its sleeve: if Asencio is officially registered as a first-team player, his contract will automatically extend by five years under pre-agreed terms. This clause is standard for many Castilla players.
However, the Merengues plan to discuss a new and improved contract, potentially doubling his salary, at the end of the season, with negotiations set to take place at the end of the season.
