PSG manager Luis Enrique: “Facing Barcelona was a terrible experience” | OneFootball

Speaking to the media in a recent interview, Barcelona legend and current PSG coach Luis Enrique recalled how it was to take on the Blaugrana in last season’s UEFA Champions League.

“Facing Barcelona was a terrible experience. I feel sorry, but all the feelings are mixed,” he began on a bittersweet note.

“Coming home was a joy, but facing the club that gave me so much as a player and as a coach was a very difficult experience for me, my children and my wife. I hope I don’t have to play against them again this season,” he added, paying respect to his former club.

Finally, he admitted that it would be very hard for him to play a final against Barcelona at any point in his managerial career.

“I can’t imagine playing a final against Barcelona, ​​it would be a disaster. I hope it doesn’t happen,” Enrique stated.

Enrique took over the reins at Barcelona in 2014 and led the team to a historic treble in his debut season. The 54-year-old tactician left the club in 2017 and has since managed the Spanish national team before joining PSG last year.
