Ousmane Dembélé struck twice as Paris Saint-Germain beat Toulouse 3-1 on Friday, a confidence boost before Liverpool visit on Wednesday. Matvey Safonov had a troubled evening in goal.
According to L'Équipe, Dembélé opened the scoring on 23 minutes with a superb left-foot volley after Achraf Hakimi’s cross was only half-cleared. Four minutes later Safonov failed to deal with a direct corner from Casseres, pushing it into the path of Rasmus Nicolaisen.
Dembélé restored the hosts’ lead on 33 minutes from close range after a Kvaratskhelia flick at the near post, with Lee involved from the set piece. A near-identical routine brought him a third on 54 minutes, but it was ruled offside.
Hakimi looked sharp on the right with repeated bursts forward. Beraldo’s switch into a holding role again paid off, while Kvaratskhelia supplied a headed assist but lacked composure with several openings.
Joao Neves replaced Lee on 60 minutes, Vitinha came on for Beraldo on 67 and Nuno Mendes entered for Kvaratskhelia on 68. Safonov’s distribution remained erratic, including a risky pass to Dönnum on 74. Gonçalo Ramos arrived on 87 and scored on 90+2, and Luis Enrique also used Nuno Mendes high on the left.
