Several of the Hammers' key names are attracting transfer attention at present
Despite being earmarked as early title favourites for the upcoming 2026/27 Championship campaign, lots of movement is expected at West Ham United throughout the summer transfer window, which officially opens for business next week.
After a period of 14 unbroken years in the Premier League, the Hammers will reside in English football's second tier for the first time since their immediate promotion back to the top-flight was secured through the play-offs under Sam Allardyce.
They will be guided through the upcoming 46-game campaign by another Championship promotion-winning boss in Nuno Espírito Santo, eight years after the Portuguese lifted the division's silverware with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It was recently confirmed that Nuno would stay as Irons head coach after a period of uncertainty over his managerial position, with West Ham accumulating the Premier League's highest points total to be relegated with in 14 years.
Naturally, lots of cost-cutting is expected to take place at the London Stadium over a hectic summer, and this comes while Czech billionaire, Daniel Křetínský, is vying to turn his minority stake in E20 into a controlling one following the recent resignations of David Sullivan and Karren Brady.
It has been widely reported that the capital outfit are looking to hit a specific sum when it comes to generating income through player sales, and two key names in Nuno's squad have certainly continued to generate interest, and could even unite once more at a new club.

Indeed, with the club's financial situation far from perfect at this moment in time, it has been reported that as many as nine senior players could go through the London Stadium's exit door between now and the closing of the summer window, as West Ham look to generate in excess of £100m, which would also aid their business on the incomings front.
The main figure who has become the subject of such intense speculation has been 21-year-old Portuguese midfield ace, Mateus Fernandes, who was signed from Southampton last August in a deal worth up to £42m.
Despite relegation, the highly-rated Fernandes had racked up three goals and four assists in 36 league appearances, with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG monitoring his situation.
And, whilst recent reports have claimed the Irons are in no rush to sanction a move amid an £80m price-tag surrounding their prized asset, it has now emerged, as per Foot Mercato, that the UEFA Champions League holders are plotting a double raid for his services, and those of Dutch winger, Crysencio Summerville.
Summerville was also a shining light in a dismal season for West Ham, and has also been the subject of exit talk two years on from his initial £25m switch from Leeds United.
The winger is now focusing on international duties at the FIFA World Cup, but the aforementioned report claims a double deal could be worth approximately €130m (£112m) for Les Parisiens.
Talks between Summerville's representatives and PSG are also reported to have commenced, which will add to the club's belief a transfer can be struck.

As previously mentioned, with the club needing to balance their financial books, other star names, such as club captain, Jarrod Bowen, have also been the subject of exit talk.
However, if Fernandes and Summerville were to be sold for deals which would add up to the approximate sum of £112m, there would be slightly less of a need to potentially sell as many other top earners and names in Nuno's ranks, which would be of a massive benefit to the 52-year-old.
It also has to be said that many have predicted the chances of both Fernandes and Summerville dropping into the Championship with West Ham as extremely slim, meaning these are transfer moves which wouldn't exactly infuriate the fanbase.
