PSG scout Spanish second division defender with Jorge Mendes involved | OneFootball

Despite their largely awesome squad, there is still plenty of need for PSG to strengthen in some areas, and full back is one place where a lot of fans would say they could do with top tier backup to the elite first choice pair of Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi.

A few big names have been mentioned, but one totally unknown option would be Jorge Salinas, of Spanish second division side Racing Santander.

Young full back scouted in person by PSG

According to a piece in Spanish football paper AS yesterday, several clubs have approached Salinas and his agent, who happens to be Jorge Mendes.

They claim that PSG scouts were in attendance to watch the recent Santander – Valladolid game. The 19 year old apparently turned down a massive offer from Saudi Arabia last summer as he looks to continue building his career in Europe.

Given he’s a Mendes client, one might also wonder if this is all a bit of a PR stunt, with moves to somewhere like Bologna or Newcastle more likely than a direct leap to PSG.

Barcelona and PSG are both really keen on signing Julian Alvarez, but it’s the Catalan giants who have made the first official move to secure him.

Randal Kolo Muani will likely be on the move again this summer – the question is if PSG can find someone to take him on a permanent deal.
