According to L'Équipe, after striking an agreement with AC Milan over Gonçalo Ramos’s transfer and with Lee Kang-in’s departure looming, PSG can now step up their pursuit of Monaco attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche. The South Korea international has interest from several European clubs, including Atlético Madrid, though no deal is yet in place.

Like his team-mates, the 24-year-old is not dwelling on his future. He knows he will leave Monaco this summer and has prioritised PSG, while leaving talks to his representatives. On 18 June he said he understood the speculation but was focused on the World Cup and happy simply to be involved.

Talks are continuing between all three parties and movement is anticipated in the coming days. There is a sense the deal could progress quickly.

For Paris, the Akliouche operation should not be especially complex. The France international, with 10 caps and one goal and under contract until 2028, wanted the move last season, but the club chose not to stack talent and to keep room for academy prospects. Openings have since appeared and his stance is unchanged.

Last summer Monaco were firm on a price around €70m. This time, needing sales, the club will not oppose his exit and cannot hold to such high demands. Positive relations between the clubs should help them reach an agreement swiftly.
