Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to take their Munich momentum stateside as they face Atletico Madrid in their first Club World Cup game tonight at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Luis Enrique led PSG to a long-awaited first European crown a fortnight ago, with Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue leading the way for the Ligue 1 winners as they thrashed Inter Milan 5-0.

The Parisians have a tough ask in their opening game of the inaugural summer tournament, taking on Diego Simeone’s Atletico. The Spanish side finished third in LaLiga this season, but come into this competition with something to prove after finishing 12 points adrift of champions Barcelona, and eight behind Real Madrid.

Simeone is known for making his teams incredibly hard to beat, and his primary focus will be to keep quiet PSG’s electric front three of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Dembele and Doue. Atleti are not short of quality themselves, however, boasting names like Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez among their ranks, while ex-Chelsea duo Cesar Azipilicueta and Conor Gallagher should also feature.
