Désiré Doué (20) was one of two Paris Saint-Germain players injured during France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine last Friday. Whilst Ousmane Dembélé is expected to miss six weeks of action due to a hamstring injury, Doué is expected back a little sooner.
The former Stade Rennais forward suffered a calf injury whilst on international duty and was forced off at half-time in the 2-0 win. His period of absence was estimated at around a month. However, as per a report from Le Parisien, he could make a return later this month.
The publication understands that Doué could be fit enough to come off the bench during a Ligue 1 tie against AJ Auxerre on 27th September. It means that there is hope that he will be operational for the key UEFA Champions League encounter against Barcelona on 1st October. He will, however, still miss the UCL opener against Atalanta and the Classique against Olympique de Marseille, as expected.
