Paris Saint-Germain appears to be on the verge of signing its next top prospect. A transfer of Yan Diomande could further intensify competition on the offensive end—and thus spark new speculation surrounding Bradley Barcola.
FC Bayern is likely keeping a close eye on developments in Paris. According to multiple media reports, RB Leipzig youngster Yan Diomande is seeking a move to Paris Saint-Germain. According to Sky, the Ivorian winger has reportedly already agreed to a contract with the top French club that runs through 2031.
The 19-year-old makes no secret of his preferences. “Paris is a club I’ve loved since I was a child. It’s a team I admire as a soccer fan,” Diomande recently explained.
For now, RB Leipzig is holding firm. Sporting Director Marcel Schäfer emphasized in Sport BILD: “That means we’re in the driver’s seat and everyone else is in the backseat. We want to keep Yan Diomande. And he himself sees himself staying in Leipzig for a while longer.”
If PSG were to actually sign Diomande, competition within the already star-studded offense would intensify even further. With Ousmane Dembélé, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué, and Bradley Barcola, the Champions League winner already has an abundance of talent up front.
Barcola, in particular, could find himself even more torn as a result. According to The Athletic, the French international is reportedly unhappy with his playing time and isn’t ruling out a move in principle. In the Champions League final, the 23-year-old even had to settle for a spot on the bench.
Barcola is no stranger to FC Bayern. Last summer, the Munich club was already closely monitoring the winger before PSG prevailed over all other suitors. However, a renewed pursuit seems unlikely at this point.

For one thing, Paris is reportedly demanding a transfer fee of at least 134 million euros; for another, Bayern has already completed a costly transfer for Ismael Saibari worth at least 50 million euros. Another mega-deal for the offense is therefore unlikely to be financially feasible at this time.
Désiré Doué has also been closely monitored by Munich in the past, but his price tag has since risen to levels that seem virtually unattainable for the German record champions.
Nevertheless, the situation in Paris could continue to escalate in the coming weeks. If Diomande does indeed join the team and Barcola begins to fear for his starting spot on a permanent basis, the Frenchman is likely to be the subject of transfer speculation once again. Whether FC Bayern will then seriously re-enter the fray remains to be seen, however.
