According to De Telegraaf, PSV have offered more than Bologna’s 15 million euro bid for AZ’s Ruben van Bommel.
PSV want to quickly find a successor for Noa Lang, following his move to Napoli and has therefore submitted a bid to AZ. Alkmaar are reportedly open to a deal, provided that more than twenty million euros are on the table.
This would mean a domestic record deal, beating that of Miralem Sulejmani, who swapped sc Heerenveen for Ajax in 2008, for an amount of more than 16 million euros. Van Bommel, who already played in the PSV youth team, will be offered a five-year contract in Eindhoven.
The move promises to be an excellent deal for AZ, who picked up the attacker from MVV Maastricht and only had to pay a training fee. It was previously announced that AZ wouldn’t take Van Bommel to their training camp in Epe. The winger himself would like to make the switch to the club where his father Mark was active as both a player and a coach.
