Christian Pulisic feels the Milan comeback to beat Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana showed ‘great team spirit’ while Alvaro Morata wants to defeat Inter to ‘add another page of history.’

The Rossoneri were in crisis going into Riyadh, seeing coach Paulo Fonseca fired on Monday and working with new boss Sergio Conceicao for just three days.

Despite Kenan Yildiz giving Juventus the lead, the game was turned completely on its head in the space of four minutes by the Pulisic penalty and a Yunus Musah cross deflected past stranded Michele Di Gregorio by Federico Gatti.

“We are in the Final, this is down to the great team spirit. The first half wasn’t so good, but we’ll take it,” Pulisic told Sport Mediaset.

“This 100 per cent gives us confidence to go forward now. We want to repeat our victory against Inter, even if they are a great team.”

Morata was also in the starting XI and spoke to reporters after the game in Riyadh.

“Juve scored with their first attack, it was difficult for us, but we came out for the second half knowing we had to turn it around. We pressed with even more aggression, but above all with more players taking risks and pushing forward, which paid off,” Morata told Sport Mediaset.

Although he has not had much of an opportunity to impart many changes in only a few days, how has Sergio Conceicao prompted this Milan turnaround?

“The coach tells us we have quality, but we also need a lot of intensity, hunger and energy to win the game. He has brought in a lot of new hunger and mechanisms, we haven’t had much time to work with him, but now we have the opportunity to win a trophy,” continued Morata.

Milan will play Inter in a special Derby della Madonnina at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Monday evening, going head-to-head for the Supercoppa Italiana.

“As with every trophy, you never know when your last chance will be, we must always have that mentality. When we enter Milanello every day, we see the names of all the trophies won by Milan and have the opportunity to add another page of history into that club. We’ve got to give our all.”
