With four wins from his opening six games as Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has certainly hit the ground running in West London.

The Italian has seen his side score 15 goals already, more than any other side in the Premier League including his old employers, Man City.

It’s a testament to Maresca’s ability that he’s been able to get a tune out of a squad that have been underperforming over the past couple of seasons.

Enzo Maresca set to plunder his old club

Four goals were plundered against Brighton and Hove Albion, in a match which saw Cole Palmer make history, but that game was marred by two terrible errors by goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.

Maresca didn’t appear to be too enamoured by the 26-year-old Spaniard before the season began after it emerged that he was already thinking of bringing in another keeper to put pressure on the Blues No.1.

Now a former Leicester player turned pundit believes that the manager is still casting eyes towards his former club and brilliant custodian, Mads Hermansen.

“Obviously, Enzo [Maresca] wanted to take him [Hermansen] to Chelsea, but that deal did not get done”, Matt Piper said on the When You’re Smiling podcast. But I am sure Enzo will still be looking at him.

“The contrast between the two [Robert Sanchez and Hermansen], Hermansen is wonderful with the ball at his feet.

The Danish international has had to fish the ball out of his net on 12 occasions already this season in the Premier League, as the Foxes struggle to gain a foothold back in the top flight.

Sat down near the foot of the table at present, if Maresca was to come calling and offer him the chance of being Chelsea’s No.1., Hermansen would surely consider the move to Stamford Bridge
