Bayern’s amateurs concede a late defeat – but in addition to the result, the behavior of their own fans is once again causing discussion

FC Bayern II suffered a bitter setback in the Regionalliga Bayern with a 1-0 defeat on the road against Wacker Burghausen – and it was a particularly dramatic one

The decisive goal was scored by Noah Agbaje in the 13th minute of stoppage time. The extra time lasted more than 16 minutes in total – an unusual figure, which was mainly due to numerous interruptions

Pyro again causes problems

FC Bayern supporters also played a part in this, as pyrotechnics were set off shortly before the end of the match, leading to another interruption and adding to the already long stoppage time

As recently as the end of February, the Bavarian Football Association sanctioned the second team for repeated incidents and imposed a points deduction

Repeat offenders in the focus of the association

The problem is no longer an isolated incident: according to the association, it was the tenth incident of this kind in the current season

In an earlier match against Burghausen, Bayern supporters had „repeatedly set off pyrotechnic objects and thus also acutely endangered players on the pitch“. The match also had to be interrupted at the time

The consequences were clear: in addition to a points deduction, a fine of €26,000 was imposed – a rather rare and drastic measure in German soccer

Further penalties likely

This time, too, there is likely to be repercussions. The new incidents are being closely examined by the association and further sanctions appear likely

At least there is some hope for FC Bayern: If the club succeeds in identifying those responsible for the incidents, the points deduction could possibly be revoked or at least the penalty reduced

Meanwhile, FC Bayern II remain in mid-table in sporting terms. After the defeat, the Munich side are in seventh place, with Burghausen right behind them – the gap to the top remains large.
