Celtic are interested in Dundee keeper Jon McCracken, who had previously been on the radar of QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn.
The summer transfer window is looming, and clubs will already be looking for ways to strengthen their squads ahead of the 2026/27 season.
A lot of money will no doubt be spent, but there are also many players who will be available on a free transfer, with Dundee keeper Jon McCracken one of those who sees his current deal expire in a matter of months.
That will give the stopper the opportunity to control his future, and there is already a lot of interest in the 25-year-old, with QPR, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn reportedly keen on McCracken.
However, it appears the Championship trio could face serious competition for the ex-Accrington man, as Football Insider has revealed that Celtic are monitoring the keeper.
The Scottish champions are set for a major overhaul in the summer, with current boss Martin O’Neill expected to depart once the campaign has finished.

As well as that, there is certain to be a ridiculously high turnover of players, as a number of the current squad are only on loan. Furthermore, several big names are approaching the end of their contracts at Parkhead, with Kasper Schmeichel amongst them.
The Danish international has potentially played his last game in football, as he is set for a lengthy period out after suffering a shoulder injury.
Therefore, bringing in at least one new keeper to compete with new number one Viljami Sinisalo will be a priority for the Glasgow giants, and McCracken is a target.
It's claimed that he is one of a ‘number of targets’ that Celtic is ‘assessing’ right now, and there is set to be a battle for his signature, with McCracken seemingly set on leaving Dens Park.
The prospect of joining Celtic is likely to appeal to the keeper, as whilst they are in a fight to win the title again, they will be able to offer European football next season, and they have dominated domestically in the modern era.
It’s no surprise that McCracken is attracting a lot of interest, as he has proven himself to be a very good keeper in Scotland.
So, picking him up on a free is always going to appeal, with clubs constantly on the lookout for potential bargains, and he fits the bill because of his contract situation.

Obviously, Celtic’s interest would complicate things for QPR, Wednesday or Blackburn, if they do make a serious move to sign the Scotsman.
Yet, it’s not clear whether he would be number one for Celtic, as Sinisalo has been assured since he replaced Schmeichel, so that could give a chance for the EFL clubs if they are able to offer him guaranteed first-team football.
Either way, it seems McCracken is going to have a lot of options on the table, and it will be intriguing to see where he ends up, although no decision is going to be made until the end of the season, and his concern right now will be to help Dundee finish on a high.
