El día después on Movistar+ aired new footage of a three-minute stoppage late in Elche v Espanyol after a clash between Rafa Mir and Omar El Hilali. The Espanyol defender reported a racist comment to the referee, which was noted in the match report and triggered the anti-racism protocol.

El Hilali maintains Mir told him he had come by small boat. Mir counters that he only threatened to rip his head off, denying any racial element.

The programme’s images show tense exchanges between players from both sides, debating what had been said. Mir is later heard denying he called his opponent "moro", adding he considered himself more "moro" than him.

Other Espanyol players admonish Mir, calling him a clown and a coward, while Terrats taunts him about his record.

In his defence, Mir argues El Hilali insulted him first. Both covered their mouths during the confrontation, which erupted in the 78th minute.

Play was halted late on while the complaint was addressed.
