Rafa Mir is awaiting the verdict from last Thursday’s Valencia trial over alleged sexual abuse, with a decision expected before the new season as timelines range from two to eight weeks.

The hearing lasted nearly seven hours, and Mir maintained that the sex was consensual. According to Confilegal, which specialises in legal reporting, opposing evidence such as video metadata and chronology, a security firm report, a gynaecological expert analysis and inconsistencies between statements received minimal coverage and could be decisive.

The case is now with the sentencing court.

Prosecutors are seeking 10 years and six months in prison.

Mir’s club future remains unresolved. He has one year left on his Sevilla contract, while Elche hold a purchase option that the club could activate before 30 June.
