Rafael Juwer, 18, is set to leave Corinthians for Italian football, with Cavese expected to be his destination, Central do Timão reports.
Corinthians are expected to retain 20% of the goalkeeper’s economic rights. Juwer holds Italian citizenship, so he would not count as a foreign player.
His Corinthians deal was due to run until March 2027. He joined in 2022 for the under-14s and moved up to the under-17s two years later, but played only seven games as Arthur Borghi started. Borghi has also left recently for Hellas Verona.
Since the start of this year he has been on loan at Criciúma, featuring for their under-20s and being listed for senior matches in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. On Thursday morning Corinthians registered his contract in the Boletim Informativo Diário (BID), a routine step ahead of a potential release.
Before Criciúma, Juwer spent 2024 to 2025 in Roma’s youth setup on loan. He returned in early July last year after the Italian club chose not to trigger a €120,000 option, around R$700,000.
For the under-20s, coach William Batista has Matheus Corrêa, Pietro, Nicollas Siqueira and Ricardo Shultz available, while under-17 starter Gustavo Milani has also stepped up this season.
