Rafael Obrador will report for Benfica’s pre-season despite being on loan at Torino, with the club counting on him for initial preparations. According to Glorioso 1904, his immediate future remains open but, for now, he is due back at the Luz when training starts.

Torino want to keep the left-back but do not intend to trigger the purchase option set at nine million euros. Instead, they are ready to discuss a lower price with Benfica, a possibility that has not advanced so far.

Benfica’s stance is firm, he will only leave if an offer deemed irresistible arrives. If not, he will be integrated into the squad and assessed by the new coaching staff during pre-season, giving him the chance to compete for a place.

The board believe in his potential, initially signing him as a long-term project, and will not rush a departure without significant financial return. The file remains open, though the current leaning is towards his inclusion in Benfica’s summer plans.

This season, across Benfica and Torino, Obrador, valued at five million euros, played 20 matches, 16 in Serie A, two in Liga Portugal Meu Super, one in the Coppa Italia and one in Liga Portugal Betclic. In 1,446 minutes, he recorded one goal and four assists.
