Valencia have reunited former Almería team-mates Ramazani and Sadiq at Mestalla, and the link clicked at once. In Burgos, Ramazani assisted and Sadiq scored, helping the side into the Copa del Rey quarter-finals.
AS reports that Ramazani arrived in the summer window, then an injury kept him out for several weeks and irregular minutes limited his rhythm. The Belgian has now been handed a platform to build on his understanding with Sadiq.
The pair have long signalled their close bond on social media, trading light-hearted nods to Valencia when Largie signed and Umar was negotiating a summer exit from Real Sociedad.
Sadiq’s arrival has brought a breath of fresh air to the dressing room, and he already has the fans onside. He marked his first goal since returning to Valencia a week ago, and looks in shape to compete for the starting role up front.
The tie in Burgos offered green shoots amid Valencia’s LaLiga struggles. Fringe players showed they can press for places, and Ramazani and Sadiq are among those pushing, their understanding promising to add plenty to the team.
