Pierce Charles is the subject of increasing transfer speculation ahead of the summer transfer window
Sheffield Wednesday are hoping that David Storch can complete his takeover of the club before the 2 May clash against West Brom.
The Owls will host James Morrison’s side in their final game in the Championship before being demoted to League One.
It could be a momentous occasion, with supporters eager for a new era to begin after a tumultuous last 12 months.
Previous owner Dejphon Chansiri oversaw significant financial mismanagement, with the club going into administration last October as a result.
But now Arise Capital have agreed to buy the Yorkshire outfit, offering fans some light at the end of the tunnel.
However, a 15 point deduction penalty could set the team back, reminding everyone involved at Sheffield Wednesday that returning to competitiveness won’t be a smooth process.

It has been reported by Talksport that Celtic are ready to enter the race to sign Pierce Charles from Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
The Glasgow outfit are set to compete with their Old Firm rivals Rangers, who are also keen on the 20-year-old.
Charles has impressed during his displays in the Championship, albeit injury issues have limited him to just 17 appearances in the league this season.
Henrik Pedersen’s side have also struggled for results, and the goalkeeper has kept only two clean sheets.
However, he has still earned a reputation as a promising young shot stopper, which has led to interest from the likes of Coventry City, as well as Manchester City.
Charles has a contract with the Owls until June 2027, but the risk of losing him for next to nothing in 12 months could lead to the club cashing in on him this summer.
It remains to be seen how the prospective new owners at Sheffield Wednesday will handle the situation, with the transfer market set to open at the end of the campaign.
Storch is hoping to complete the takeover of the Yorkshire outfit by 1 May, with work underway to receive ratification from the EFL.
Sheffield Wednesday have been docked a total of 18 points already this season due to a combination of going into administration, as well as breaching the EFL’s financial rules.
The Owls have just two games left before stepping down into League One, with their next game set to come against Middlesbrough this evening in a 7.45pm kick-off.

Sheffield Wednesday have lost a lot of talent in the last 12 months, and a lot of those departures have come far below the expected market rate.
With just one year left on his deal, Charles could also be available for a relatively lower price than his potential, but new ownership coming in should ensure he won’t leave for nothing if he goes this summer.
It’s clear at 20-years-of-age that the goalkeeper has the potential to play at the highest level of the game, if he can avoid any further fitness issues, and a move to either Celtic or Rangers would be quite promising.
Both of the Scottish giants are in need of a new number one, and Charles could be a smart solution for either club to fill this important hole in their squads.
