The Eagles announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.
Potter moved to South London after spending the last two seasons north of the border at Rangers. After gaining coaching experience in Barclays WSL2 with Coventry United and Birmingham City, Potter’s move to Glasgow saw her take on her first head coach role. She guided Rangers to back-to-back domestic cup doubles while The Gers also lifted the City of Glasgow’s Women’s Cup in 2023.
Potter’s next job is to help Crystal Palace recover quickly from their relegation to Barclays WSL2. The Eagles spent just one season in the top flight before returning to the second tier.
After being appointed Crystal Palace head coach, Potter said “I’m extremely honoured to join Crystal Palace and looking forward to coming in and hitting the ground running.
“I know there’s huge ambition running throughout the club. I had a really good conversation with Steve Parish and could see how important the women’s team are to him and his aspirations for this club.
“It’s a massive place to be right now. We really want to make sure that we’ve got the network and the environment right, so that we’re able to make this season a successful one.
“My message to the fans is that we are going to fight – we are going to fight with you and for you. We want to see you bring the noise and support the team.”
Potter replaces former Crystal Palace boss Leif Smerud who left his position at the end of the season.
