Rangers Face ‘Is Keen On’ Problem In Bid To Take Star To Ibrox | OneFootball

Stoke City and Lincoln City target Luke Graham ‘is keen on a move to England despite Rangers trying to do a deal’, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

Rangers want to add Scottish players to the ranks this summer as they bid to turn the page on what was a disastrous collapse under Danny Rohl in the post split fixtures.

Lawrence Shankland has joined the Gers from Hearts and now they are preparing a bid for Graham, with things heating up behind the scenes.

Rangers look to be facing an issue though as Dundee defender Graham has significant interest from England and is keen to go south of the border.

Lincoln City have already gone in for Graham and can offer him Championship football, while Stoke are now making their own move.

Rangers could well face a battle to convince Graham to snub interest from the Championship and stay in Scotland.

It is far from clear though whether that is a battle the Gers will be able to win, with uncertainty over the level of wage offers that will be made by suitors.

Former Rangers player and coach Alex Rae advised the Gers to make a move for Graham in April after seeing his qualities up close.

Rae said that for Graham the penny has dropped and he has hugely kicked on as a player.

He explained: “I have [been impressed], and it is interesting because you get to talk with people within the game, people who have actually worked with him and I think the penny has dropped for him as well in terms of ways he goes about things.

“I don’t mean any disrespect. I don’t know enough about the boy. I think he has buckled down, he has applied himself better and he is actually benefiting from that.

“Because I think he looks chiselled now, looks as if he has been ripped. And he is actually bullying people.”

The Gers will see centre-back Derek Cornelius leave after his loan, while Nasser Djiga’s loan is also to end.

Rangers boss Rohl will be keen to get the squad he wants assembled as quickly as possible, with the German understanding how key a good start to next season will be, as he seeks to win over some sceptical fans.

Rohl was recently spotted at a state cup final in Germany watching one of his former clubs in action.

He raided German football for Ryan Naderi in the winter transfer window and could have his eyes on more players from his homeland.
