Reported to be on the verge of joining Rangers – with whom his club are said to have already reached an agreement – ESTAC Troyes’ Sankhoun Diawara (20) have also been identified as a target for AC Milan, according to Foot Mercato.
Although they are starting from further behind, the Italians are not giving up and are attempting to outmanoeuvre their Scottish rivals in this deal. However, their offer is said to be quite different from that of the Glasgow side. Whilst the latter are reportedly planning to integrate Diawara directly into the first team, the Rossoneri would prefer to take more time, initially having him play for their reserve team.
A key factor that could influence the Paris-born player’s decision, having made 14 appearances (12 as a starter) in Ligue 2 and contributed to ESTAC’s league title and promotion to the top flight last season.
With a year remaining on his contract, the French Under-19 international centre-back therefore faces a crucial decision for his career. And the arrival of the Milan side in the talks could well shake things up.
