Roma boss Claudio Ranieri reiterated Leandro Paredes’ importance to the team.
In light of recent rumors, Paredes’ anger at his substitution tonight vs Eintracht Frankfurt sparked a media frenzy in the post-match presser.
Reporters asked Ranieri to comment on the player’s attitude and the recent rumors linking him with a return to Argentina.
“He was disappointed, he wasn’t furious. He wanted to keep playing.”
“I’m very happy if he stays, he knows how much I respect him and I would be sorry if he left because I would lose a world champion and an incredible lad who, even when he wasn’t playing, has always trained like Hummels at a thousand miles an hour.”
“I would lose an example for his teammates, I would be sorry, it would be a shame. But I understand the needs of every family and every boy but he didn’t tell me anything.”
