Club América are seeking a final reinforcement for Clausura 2026. TUDN reports that talks are under way over Raphael Veiga to fill that slot.
The hunt has produced plenty of rumours with little that could be called concrete, much of it guesswork in local media.
Veiga is an attacking midfielder who became an idol at Palmeiras in Brazil. His level dipped slightly last season, which has prompted him to look for a move.
The intention is for the decision to be wrapped up this weekend, with the last signing announced whether it is Veiga or another option.
The report added that José Zúñiga, nicknamed La Pantera, could be the player sacrificed to make room for the new arrival. That would be a surprise after suggestions that Víctor Dávila, and even Rodrigo Aguirre, might depart. Zúñiga has only been at the club for six months.
Official confirmation is awaited, but the arrival of one final signing and the exit of a foreign player are presented as certainties.
