Raul Asencio has provided a reassuring update after being stretchered off during Real Madrid’s Champions League play-off second leg against Benfica on Wednesday.

The Spanish centre-back left the pitch after an aerial collision with team-mate Eduardo Camavinga in the final quarter-hour of the 2-1 win.

He landed awkwardly and received treatment for about five minutes before David Alaba replaced him in the 77th minute.

After the match, Real coach Alvaro Arbeloa said he did not think the injury was too serious, noting a blow to the neck, and confirmed Asencio had gone to hospital for tests.

Later, the defender eased concerns on Instagram, describing it as just a big scare.
