Arsenal will entertain Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium this Saturday as they look to secure a good result at home in the Premier League. The Gunners managed to earn a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in the EFL Cup recently, which should keep them in good spirits going into this game.

Mikel Arteta will set his players up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few tweaks to his first team for this clash. David Raya, Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori could play from the start of this game.

Defence

David Raya will operate in between the sticks for the Gunners after he was rested in midweek. Gabriel will play alongside William Saliba at the heart of the Arsenal backline as they focus on keeping a good shape when defending inside their half.

Ben White will hope to put in a solid performance as the right-back, while Riccardo Calafiori looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Arteta will instruct both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Jurrien Timber and Piero Hincapie will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Arteta could name a midfield three of Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi and Kai Havertz for this game. All three of them need to move the ball well if they want to engineer some decent chances in the final third.

Eberechi Eze and Christian Norgaard will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.

Attack

Leandro Trossard will hope to prove his value on the left flank, while Noni Madueke looks to give a good account of himself as the right-sided wide player.

Gabriel Jesus will spearhead Arteta’s attack up top. He has to figure out a way to be a constant menace on the offensive end of the field.

Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Martinelli will be available for selection on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Gunners are in need of a goal by then.
