Sport Bild reports that interest in RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has suddenly dried up. Recent reports suggested that both Arsenal and several Saudi clubs were vying for the Slovenian’s services. Now, however, it appears as if the German Red Bulls are back to square one when it comes to the player they had most hoped to sell this summer.
Multiple reliable footballing media outlets report that Arsenal is on the verge of signing Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting CP. Leipzig’s attempts to solicit a massive €100m transfer package out of the Gunners apparently proved futile. RB may still end up offloading Sesko for a large sum this summer, but a seriously committed taker must be found.
The possibility of the 22-year-old remaining in Saxony after all isn’t out of the question. Sesko came up through the Red Bull system and has actually never even represented a non-RB club. Prior to joining Leipzig, Sesko featured for RB Salzburg and Austrian RB feeder club FC Liefering.
