Reading are ‘braced for interest’ in their stars and goalkeeper Joel Pereira, who is being closely monitored by multiple Championship outfits, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Portuguese shot-stopper joined the League One team in the summer as a free agent and he signed a one-year deal with the Royals.

He has become an important player for the Royals as he has made 32 appearances for them so far.

Pereira’s contract though is set to expire at the end of the campaign and his performances have attracted clubs higher up in the food chain.

It has been suggested that multiple Championship outfits are keeping their tabs on the Reading star man and the Royals are expecting interest from them.

The 28-year-old came through the youth system of Manchester United and was rated very highly, featuring at multiple youth levels for the Portugal team.

Now he is at Reading, who are sixth in League One, but it is far from clear if he will still be there by the time the window closes.

Now only time will tell if the interested clubs will make an offer this month for Pereira or if they are willing to wait until the end of the campaign for his signature.
