Jadon Sancho has turned down the opportunity to join AS Roma this summer, despite Manchester United being ‘ready to accept’ the side’s £20 million bid.

Indeed, the outcast Red is now no closer to making his expected Old Trafford departure and is not in active negotiations with any club, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Roma had opened talks with Sancho last week in hopes of hashing out a swift agreement, with United fully open to facilitating the transfer as they look to get him off their books once and for all. However, he has today informed the Serie A outfit that he has no desire to complete the move, rendering him back at square one.

United chiefs will likely be pulling their hair out at how long it’s taking the forward to leave, especially considering he’s now in the final year of his contract and his value is decreasing week by week.

Romano added that Besiktas are keen to sign Sancho in a deal that would see him reunite with the manager who brought him to United: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Yet, he is uninterested in considering a move to Turkey until he’s certain there are no other options available. Their window closes on September 12, allowing him to bide his time and explore any alternative suitors.

It’s bizarre that Sancho and the other exiled Reds, Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia, are so relaxed about their situations that they’re not even fazed by the season getting underway and them not being involved.

Antony is thought to be waiting on a return to Real Betis, who cannot afford United’s asking price, while Garnacho is anticipating a formal proposal from Chelsea, who are also said to be unwilling to meet the Red Devils’ demands.
