Despite having joined Real Madrid with high hopes in 2021, the French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is facing a highly uncertain future at the Merengue club, still being only 23 years of age and not having reached the heights he was expected to when he joined.

There is no doubt that he has contributed to some of the most notable successes enjoyed by the white club in recent memory, however, for the last few years, his growth has been rather stagnant, and he has not taken the step up that he was expected to have taken at this point in his career. In fact, his performances have been declining lately, and as a result, Real Madrid have been considering his departure to bring in a more competent midfielder.

Going forward, Jose Mourinho is set to make the final decision about his future. However, as SPORT has noted, the last few days have seen the positions of the club and the player getting closer to the midfielder’s desire of staying, albeit for quite different reasons.

The Frenchman wants to continue at the club and prove himself at the highest level. This is particularly so as he believes he needs a coach to guide him, and Mourinho’s arrival could help him turn around his career.

Meanwhile, the Merengues were earlier considering his departure, but are not going to let him leave at any price. Despite his market value currently standing at €50 million, they are not willing to let him leave for this sum, and want a greater amount in transfer fee, around €70 million.

Real Madrid recently offered him to the Premier League giants Manchester City, while PSG, who compete with the Merengues for his signing back in 2021, are also still interested in him. Liverpool and Chelsea have also made inquiries about him. Going forward, with three years still remaining on his contract, it remains to be seen whether Eduardo Camavinga would end up staying in his current club for the next season.
