In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are set to rival Barcelona for Leicester City starlet Jeremy Monga. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to acquire the services of the English wide player next year.

Monga’s Impressive Rise In English Football

Monga has caught the eye at times with his performances on the left side of Leicester’s attack this season. The English talent has featured in 14 matches for the Foxes in this campaign so far, scoring one goal and securing one assist in multiple competitions.

The 16-year-old has managed to shine at times in the final third as he is averaging 0.82 shots per 90 minutes in the EFL Championship. He has kept 40% of his attempts on target. Monga has even distributed possession relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 76.1% in the second tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

Monga is currently among the best young wingers in English football. Thus, it is no surprise that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring him to the Spanish capital next year.

Real Madrid Are Set To Rival Barcelona For Monga: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Monga is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the eye to play some decisive passes for his teammates in the final third. He can strike the ball with power from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating the odd goal for his team up top.

The English talent is primarily a left-winger but can also fill in as a right-sided wide player if told to do so. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level.

Still, we can expect Monga to enhance the quality of Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s attack in the long run. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.

At 16, Monga has got the potential to be a future star in European football. He is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Alonso would be wise to move in for him in 2026.
