Slavko Vincic, the UEFA-appointed referee for Real Madrid - Benfica, is in the spotlight before the Champions League tie. The build-up already includes an alleged racism case involving Prestianni and Vinicius Jr.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 46-year-old Slovenian is often trusted with high-stakes fixtures or those needing a firm hand. He was detained during a police raid at a party in May 2020 where drugs and prostitutes were present.

Thirty-five people were detained in the operation, including Vincic, who said he was handcuffed only to give a statement and was then allowed to return to Slovenia.

He later explained that, after a meeting with business partners, he and others accepted an invitation to a party at a farm, which is how he ended up there.

Vincic has already refereed two Benfica matches this season. He oversaw the win against Fenerbahçe that sealed qualification for the Champions League, then the league phase meeting with Napoli that finished 2-0.
