Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho has made clear to Blancos star Eduardo Camavinga that game time will be tough to come by in Spain’s capital this coming season.

This comes with the Frenchman not in favour under the watch of his new manager…

The Real Madrid brass are of course expected to add to the engine room options at the disposal of José Mourinho over the coming weeks, courtesy of the signing of Manchester City star Rodri.

This is expected to culminate in Aurélien Tchouaméni being relegated to 2nd choice in the pecking order at the base of Los Merengues’ midfield. For the aforementioned Camavinga, minutes would in turn be at an absolute premium, following a disappointing individual campaign all told in 2025/26.

Faced by the 23-year-old after reporting for pre-season training earlier this month, Mourinho was therefore as blunt as ever with Camavinga.

As per a report from journalist Sergio Valentín:

‘José Mourinho has spoken with Eduardo Camavinga and explained his situation to him. He’s going to have a very tough time getting minutes. Mourinho has been direct with him.’

Despite the uphill battle in front of him, the former Rennes talent, though, remains keen to stay put and fight for his place next season.
