Not too long ago, Fran Garcia had emerged as a serious option for AC Milan this summer as the Rossoneri were keen on signing a replacement for Theo Hernandez.
The Frenchman has joined Al Hilal this summer, thus creating a gaping hole in Milan’s full-back unit. And one of the options the club were considering in their attempt to replace Hernandez was to sign Garcia.
The Spaniard had shown excellent form during the FIFA Club World Cup, but negotiations with Real Madrid proved to be touch for AC Milan.
The Spanish giants were not too keen on listening to offers for Garcia unless any interested parties were willing to offer €30 million. Milan, in contrast, only had a budget of just €20 million.
Fran Garcia, for his part, would have loved to join AC Milan as his current status in the Real Madrid team is set to dwindle further following the arrival of Alvaro Carreras.

However, Garcia’s move to Milan has now been completely ruled out as the Rossoneri are closing in on the capture of Pervis Estupinan, reports AS.
The Ecuadorian international is expected to join AC Milan this summer, in a €17 million deal from Brighton & Hove Albion, with an additional €2 million coming in the form of bonuses.
Estupinan is expected to join Milan either today or tomorrow, meaning the Italian giants have already found their replacement for Hernandez and therefore, won’t consider a move for Garcia anymore.
Milan have been able to meet its target without having to spend more than €20 million, meaning Garcia now has to find other clubs as he looks to leave Real Madrid this summer.
