Real Madrid have gone public through their official channels to deny international media rumours and comments from people close to Enzo Fernández suggesting a reported interest in signing the Chelsea midfielder.

In a statement, Los Blancos assured that they “have not carried out any steps, directly or indirectly, with the aim of signing the player” and added that they “have no intention whatsoever of moving forward with that operation”.

It should be remembered that Javier Pastore, agent of the former Benfica midfielder, made comments linking Enzo Fernández to a possible departure from Chelsea, even mentioning Real Madrid as a plausible destination.

In addition, the Argentina international had already been internally suspended by the Blues after being linked with a potential transfer.

Faced with growing speculation, the Madrid club decided to clarify the situation publicly, stressing that it was doing so “out of respect for an institution like Chelsea”.

“Real Madrid regrets that, despite the clarity of the facts and the absence of any action on the part of the club, information continues to be published that does not reflect reality and only serves to create confusion among supporters and unnecessarily harm the entities and individuals involved,” concluded the Spanish club.
