Real Madrid’s most shocking result of the season has really been their defeat to Albacete in the Copa del Rey.
For starters, their opponents were struggling in the relegation battle of the second division of Spanish football at the time of the game, and the fact that they not only won but dominated paints a very poor picture of Real Madrid.
As the only lower division team to make it to the quarterfinals, Albacete have proven to have some special players and unity in the dressing room, which makes them stand out.
As relayed by Mundo Deportivo, one of their player is even being linked to Real Madrid.
Indeed, the outlet reports that Real Madrid are maintaining tabs on Albacete’s young left-back David Bernabeu, who has done wonders for the second-division side this season.
The 19-year-old star is highly regarded in Spain and has impressed with his performances this season. Not only Real Madrid but even FC Barcelona are said to be interested in his signing.

Los Blancos have reportedly even made their interest in the player known to Albacete, but the second-division club points to his release clause, placed at €6 million and demands that it be paid out to complete his signing.
If Real Madrid do sign him, it will be as a long-term replacement for the left-back position. Considering that the department is currently overstaffed with three players, it is likely that they may not see it to be an emergency signing.
So far this season, the youngster has played in two cup games for Albacete and averages 71 minutes per game.
He also has two appearances in the second division league with 86% passes completed and 0.5 key passes per game.
