Rodrygo was the star performer for Brazil as they kickstarted the international break with a 5-0 win over South Korea in a friendly.
The Real Madrid superstar scored two of the five goals for the Selecao. In fact, three of the five goals were scored by Real Madrid players, with Vinicius Junior scoring the other one.
In light of his brilliant performance vs South Korea, Rodrygo talked about his form and Brazil’s World Cup qualifying run.
Rodrygo was indeed delighted with his performance against South Korea, even admitting that he had considered this game as a World Cup final.
“I’m very happy to be back. I spent some time away from the national team. I missed it. I had in mind to treat these friendlies as if they were a World Cup final, and that’s what I tried to do today. Everything went well,” he said (h/t Mundo Deportivo).
The Real Madrid star played for the Brazilian national team for the first time in six months, revealed that the team’s World Cup preparations are going well.

“We’re on an excellent path to the World Cup,” he said.
The Brazilian international also talked about Carlo Ancelotti and how he is slowly adding more balance in the team.
“It’s always important to maintain a solid defense. Everyone defends, everyone helps… Little by little, the offense is starting to work. I’m very happy with the win and also with my personal performance. We have to keep going like this,” he concluded.
Rodrygo will be hoping to deliver another great performance when Brazil take on Japan in yet another friendly on October 14.
A strong display during this international break, after all, could go a long way in aiding the confidence of the attacker, who has fallen behind in the pecking order, feature in just over 200 minutes of competitive action for Real Madrid this season.
