According to Fichajes, Real Madrid have identified Borussia Dortmund defender Daniel Svensson as a possible replacement in face Fran Garcia ends up leaving in the summer.

The Spanish giants believe the 24-year-old full-back fits the type of profile they are looking for.

The club wants a player who can bring energy, competition, and reliability to a position that has raised some concerns over the course of the season.

While Garcia has had moments of quality, the coaching staff is reportedly open to making adjustments if the right offer arrives for him.

Spotlight on Svensson

As such, Svensson’s name has gained importance behind the scenes.

His versatility, physical strength, and ability to play in different defensive roles match the club’s long-term recruitment strategy, which focuses heavily on young, developing talents.

The plan is that if Garcia receives a strong offer and decides to leave, Real Madrid want a ready-made replacement lined up.

The club do not want to be caught off guard and would prefer a player who is already performing at a high level in a top European league.

In that regard, Svensson has made a strong impression in the Bundesliga since joining Borussia Dortmund in 2025.

The wing-back has adapted quickly to the demands of German football, contributing three goals and one assist in 31 appearances.

Dortmund are aware of the growing interest in the defender, with clubs such as Arsenal and Inter Milan also monitoring his progress.

The German side has reportedly set a price tag of around €30 million, a figure that Real Madrid are keeping in mind as they continue to follow the situation closely.

If competition from the Premier League intensifies, Madrid may have to act quickly to secure the signing.
