Real Madrid identify “easiest” candidate for big-money summer sale | OneFootball

In recent weeks, Real Madrid have focused on exits, although that has changed in the last 24 hours as moves for Yan Diomande and Rodri are being sought. If both, and especially the latter, are signed, the door would surely open to a prominent player being sold, and midfield continues to be the area where there is most likely to be movement.

Real Madrid would want to balance the books if Diomande and Rodri are signed, and of all the players that they have in the first team fold, Eduardo Camavinga is the one that club bosses would be most comfortable selling, as per Diario AS. The 23-year-old is unlikely to have a prominent role in Jose Mourinho’s plans for the 2026-27 season, which has led to him being offered out to Premier League sides.

Given that Diomande will cost €120m, while Rodri could be around €50m due to him only having a year left on his Manchester City contract, the feeling within Real Madrid is that a big sale is needed to balance the books. Camavinga is the one that makes the most sense – especially with Rodri coming in as a replacement – but it will not be easy to get him off the books.

Camavinga has no plans to leave Real Madrid in 2026

Real Madrid are prepared to let Camavinga leave if they receive an offer in the region of €70m, but even if they do, there is no guarantee that a sale goes through. The player himself has absolutely no intention of leaving the Bernabeu this summer, with his plan being to convince Mourinho that he can be a important option for the 2026-27 season.

However, it’s difficult to see Camavinga being counted upon at this stage. If Rodri joins, the France international would face competition from him, as well as Aurelien Tchouameni, Federico Valverde and Thiago Pitarch, so he would be significantly down the pecking order.
