Real Madrid are intensely focused on bolstering their youth ranks heading into the new season.
As such, they have already made several new signings to strengthen La Fabrica with young talents such as Manu Navarro, Fran Santamaria, and Sergio Castellon, among others.
In addition, Los Blancos are also set to sign Victor Correa, who is considered one of the most promising young prospects in the Atletico Madrid academy.
Now, according to ESPN journalist Rodra, Real Madrid have set their sights on Yulian Mosquera, a 15-year-old central defender currently playing in the youth ranks of Valencia.
Yulian is the younger brother of Cristhian Mosquera, the Arsenal centre-back who also developed through the Valencia academy system.
It must be remembered that Cristhian was also on Real Madrid’s radar before he moved to Arsenal and now the Merengues are targeting a move for his younger brother.
As per the report, Yulian has been monitored by Real Madrid scouts for some time. The 15-year-old centre-back shares many similarities with his brother’s style of play, with those in the know describing him as quick, physically strong, and possessing solid defensive attributes.
Those close to the player highlight his pace and his height, which already stands at 1.94 metres, as key factors that could accelerate his path to professional football.
His strong performances have attracted interest from several clubs across Europe, with Real Madrid among them.
The Spanish capital club are working towards securing the signing of the young defender and are confident that a deal can be completed in the coming months.
