According to a report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid are keeping a close watch on Valencia’s talented midfielder Javi Guerra.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of Spain’s most promising young midfielders, and his rise has not gone unnoticed by Real Madrid’s scouting department.
It is known that the Los Blancos are keen to strengthen their Spanish core, something Florentino Perez has prioritised in recent transfer windows.
This summer alone, the club welcomed young Spanish talents such as Gonzalo Garcia, Dean Huijsen and Alvaro Carreras into the first-team setup, signalling a renewed focus on local talent.
Adding Guerra to the mix would continue this trend and offer another long-term option in midfield.
Guerra recently renewed his contract with Valencia until 2029, showing the club’s intent to keep him as a central figure for the future. However, financial difficulties at Mestalla could open the door for negotiations.
His release clause is set at €100 million, but it is believed that Valencia may be willing to accept a fee around half that figure.

At this stage, Real Madrid’s chief of scout, Juni Calafat, has only instructed his team to monitor Guerra’s progress closely throughout the season.
A final decision on whether to move for him is not expected until 2026, with much depending on the situation of Dani Ceballos, whose future at the club remains uncertain.
Real Madrid are already preparing for their 2026 transfer strategy, with midfield reinforcements seen as a priority.
Alongside Guerra, the club has also been linked with Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace and Angelo Stiller of Stuttgart.
However, it appears that firm decisions will only be made towards the end of the 2025/26 season, once performances, squad needs, and contractual situations are fully evaluated.
For now, Guerra’s progress at Valencia will be under the microscope, with Real Madrid carefully weighing whether he could become the next Spanish star to wear the famous white shirt.
