Dani Ceballos has once again placed his future at Real Madrid in doubt after posting a cryptic message on social media, raising fresh questions about his continuity at the club.
The midfielder, who featured briefly in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Oviedo, came on in the 86th minute and later published an Instagram story that has quickly become the subject of intense debate among fans and the media alike.
In the post, Ceballos shared an image from the game with the caption “Last dance” followed by a gesture of thanks, a message widely interpreted as a farewell hint.
The timing of this message, so soon after Madrid’s commanding victory, has left many to believe that the 29-year-old is preparing for an exit before the summer transfer window closes.
This development comes after weeks of speculation surrounding his role under Xabi Alonso.
The Spaniard has found playing time hard to come by, and with Real Madrid’s midfield packed, Ceballos’ opportunities have become increasingly limited.

His appearance against Oviedo was once again a late cameo, reinforcing the idea that he is not seen as a key figure in Alonso’s long-term plans.
Initially, Ceballos was thought to be determined to fight for his place and convince Alonso that he still had a role to play in Madrid’s project.
However, his latest message suggests a shift in mindset, with the player seemingly ready to seek more minutes elsewhere.
What makes the situation even more significant is the fact that several Champions League clubs have already shown interest in him.
With multiple offers reportedly on the table, Ceballos appears to be in a strong position to make a move that ensures him regular football at the highest level.
If this truly is Ceballos’ “last dance” in Madrid, it seems he will leave with both regret at not establishing himself as a regular starter and gratitude for the years spent wearing the white shirt.
