As Real Madrid continue to search for defensive reinforcements, Andrea Cambiaso has become the latest name to be linked with the club.

According to SPORT, the Juventus defender is among the profiles currently being monitored ahead of the new season. 

Following Dani Carvajal’s departure, the need for another specialist option on the right side has become increasingly clear.

At the moment, Trent Alexander-Arnold remains the only natural right-back in the squad, which explains why Madrid are exploring versatile alternatives capable of covering multiple positions.

A versatile option to have

Although naturally more comfortable on the left, the Italian international has built a reputation for performing effectively on either flank.

His adaptability is viewed as one of his strongest qualities, especially in a market where multifunctional defenders are becoming increasingly valuable.

Within Real Madrid, there is a positive assessment of his profile.

However, for now, Real Madrid have not made any formal move, but the player continues to be followed closely and the situation could evolve depending on how the club prioritises the summer business over the coming weeks.

Juventus have set a price

According to the outlet, Juventus are not completely shutting the door.

In fact, reports from Italy suggest the Serie A side would be prepared to consider offers in the region of €40 million for Cambiaso if serious proposals arrive.

While he remains an important member of the team, the full-back is among the players the club could sacrifice this summer to generate income.

That situation has naturally alerted several major European sides, meaning Real Madrid are not alone in tracking the defender.

As reported by the outlet, clubs such as Barcelona, Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City, Inter, Napoli and Como have also been linked with interest in recent weeks.

For now, the interest is in a preliminary stage as Real Madrid are also exploring other options such as Diogo Dalot and Pedro Porro, among others, but no final decision has been made yet.
