As Real Madrid contemplate entering the transfer market to replace the injured Dani Carvajal, either immediately or during the winter window, speculation has emerged about a possible move for PSG’s Achraf Hakimi.

Reports had suggested that the 25-year-old is seen as one of the candidates to replace Carvajal in the long run at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, such a return for the Madrid-born Morocco international appears impossible, both in the immediate future and beyond his current contract’s expiration in June 2026.

Hakimi in advanced talks over new PSG contract

As has already been reported, Hakimi has become a crucial figure in Luis Enrique’s plans, more so following Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid.

As such, contract renewal negotiations between PSG and Hakimi were already underway, and these discussions have now reached an advanced stage, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The proposed new deal would extend the former Real Madrid right-back’s contract for an additional four years, keeping him at PSG until June 2030.

Financial negotiations are also progressing well, building upon his current earnings of approximately €10 million net per season.

This extension would ensure PSG retain Hakimi through his prime years, as he would be 31 when the new contract expires. The agreement further cements the right-back’s importance within the Parisian club, where he already serves as one of the team captains.

It would essentially make it ‘impossible’ for Real Madrid to sign Hakimi immediately or act on their plan to make a move for him when his current contract would have expired in 2026.

This season, Hakimi has featured in five Ligue 1 matches, scoring once, and has appeared in two Champions League fixtures. Last season, he made 39 appearances across all competitions, contributing five goals.
